Common territory capture patterns
Understanding some basic patterns of territory capture will help you to quickly "see" how much territory that you have captured without having to count each space.
As you can see in the illustration below, the longest stretch of territory that can be captured by a single piece is seven (7) spaces. Keep in mind that your opponent is going to guard those longer stretches!
As you will see in the examples below, it is very possible to win the game by slipping just a few pieces across your opponent's border. Of course your opponent will be trying to do the same to you, so defend those front hexes!
A very sneaky winning position; sneak one piece across, and then a second. You're only three hexes into enemy territory, and no obvious long stretches for your enemy to notice!
